Villa Da Riva

The area where this villa is situated should be ancient. Here there should have been Pantero Pantera's house; he was the captain of Clemente VIII's papal galleys and had the villa erected in 1617.

Later on, the building was transferred to the Cattaneos, then, in the nineteenth century, to the very famous musical publishers Tito and Giulio Ricordi.

The villa was acquired by the De Bayet, then it belonged to the Da Rivas, important cotton manufacturers. With a munificent deed, Mrs Bianca Ramponi Da Riva gave the estate to the Istituto Angelicum in Milan.

In 1890 it was acquired by an estate agency.
