Villa Parravicini

It was erected towards the end ai the eighteenth century on the remains of an ancient "landlord and manager's house". It was built on request of the Comense "Chevalier" Augusto Rezzonico, who entrusted the construction to a talented but unknown master. The result was more than satisfactory.

In 1822 the estate was sold to the Visconti di Modrone family and in 1848 it was inherited by Carlo d'Adda. In 1902 the villa was acquíred by General Genova Thaon de Revel. From "donna" Ottavia, one of the general's daughters, this elegant construction was transferred to the present owners, Counts Parravicini Sossnovsky.

The villa ís in front of the lake and expands with the central body overhung by a large gable where the family "arms" stand out and two symmetrical wings which define íts delightful perspective. It is a Patrician Villa in which one would not be surprised more than so much if suddenly, at the sound of a spinet, powered gentlemen and charming ladies in crinolines descended lightly from the frames for a waltzstep.
